About the Chet Levitt Fund The Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law helps ensure fairness in the workplace.
Chet Levitt, an attorney at the Washington, D.C. firm of Cashdan Golden & Kane, was deeply committed to his work in employment and civil rights law. In 1996, a senseless act of violence took his life. Chet's friends and family, together with Workplace Fairness, created the Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law to honor his life and work in pursuit of equal rights in the workplace. The Chet Levitt Fund provides financial support in important cases brought to protect employee rights.

The Chet Levitt Fund recently awarded a grant and interest-free loan to attorneys Arnold E. Shaheen and Merl Wayman. The case involves the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and wrongful discharge in violation of public policy. The wrongful conduct, including alleged forgeries of the employee's signature, may call for punitive damages under Ohio law. The grant will be used to help support the costs of experts in the case. ![]() © 2003 Chet Levitt Fund for Employment Law. All rights reserved. |
